Greetings,
Our opening song at the 11a.m. Mass this Sunday is Called Rain Down. It goes something like this;
RAIN DOWN, RAIN DOWN,
RAIN DOWN YOUR LOVE
ON YOUR PEOPLE,
RAIN DOWN, RAIN DOWN,
RAIN DOWN YOUR LOVE, GOD OF LIFE
Maybe this is our version of a rain dance this week. It seemed to work today anyways, since my front yard is going dry from lack of water because my pump isn't working.
More than water, we are all thirsty for God's love and life. This Saturday we have our annual Ministry Day of Renewal for all current and those who would like to begin a liturgical ministry. Please go to our website to register or just show up. We won't card you at the door. It will be great to have you.
We hope our thirst is satisfied as we hear our guest speaker, Ms.Michele Kenaga, speak about Restored Order and Family Catechesis. She is the Faith Formation Director for the diocese. Please join us from 9a.m. to 11a.m.
See what else is coming up.

1)FAITH NIGHT, next Wednesday, October.1st at 5:30p.m. This is for everyone, but especially our Confirmation kids from 6th through 9th grade along with their parents. It all starts at 5:30p.m with Mass in the main church, then we eat at 6p.m. in the parish Hall and then we enjoy a great lesson on the Faith for 30 minutes. Come on out and join us.
2) FAITH FORMATION CONFERENCE:
Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 11, when our Diocese will host its annual Faith Formation Conference at St. Sylvester’s in Gulf Breeze. The theme is “God’s life in us. Our life in God.” The day begins with Mass celebrated by Bishop Wack at 8:30, followed by keynotes and workshops in both English and Spanish. Our keynote speaker, Dominican Father Sergio Serrano, will share how prayer opens us to the power of the Sacraments. This is a wonderful opportunity for all Catholics, especially those involved in parish ministries, to grow in faith. For details and registration, visit the diocesan website at
www.ptdiocese.org
3) NEW HIRE; Please join me in welcoming our new full time Director of Evangelization and Youth Formation- Olivia Hepworth. You may already know Olivia as our part-time Youth Director, but her passion for Evangelization and Christian Formation has led her to embrace this work in a full time status. We're very excited to have her here even more and in creative ways. So, watch out for some exciting things to happen with our youth and adults. Congratulate Olivia when you see her.
4) TRUNK OR TREAT; Is it too early to talk about this? I think NOT. I'm all for treats and for you to sign up your truck in a creative way to possibly win a prize with our
BEST DECORATED CAR CONTEST. Come and join us Thursday, October 30th from 4:30 to 6p.m.. Bounce House, Games, Food, Cotton Candy, Cake Walk and Face Painting. PLEASE EMAIL
jody@stanngulfbreeze.org for details and to sign up for a car space.
Keep well and enjoy the beginnings of Fall,
Fr. John
Bonus Question: What year was our Diocese Founded? And from what 2 diocese did we come from?
